“History is so much more fun when you can relate to it,” Coral said.

“I think Little Miss History got her hiking boots at the same place as you, Janna,” Breanna teased.

“Hmm, they do look like mine,” Janna agreed. “But let’s get back to talking about the book.”

“Mount Rushmore is cool,” Harmonie said. “Let’s ask if we can go there sometime.”

“Hey, maybe when we go to Yellowstone, your mom will take us,” Catie said to Janna.

“They aren’t very close together,” Janna replied. “But she might take us, anyway.”

“Aren’t you going to say anything about the pictures, Catie?” Janna teased. “You are the art critic of the group.”

“I happen to love the pictures,” Catie replied. “Thanks for asking.”

Mr. Pish Goes to the Farm (Mr. Pish Educational Series) by K. S. Brooks

Mr. Pish Goes to the Farm by K. S. Brooks has generated a lively discussion in the Mystic Princess book club.

Mr. Pish Goes to the Farm by KS Brooks“Mr. Pish is so cute!” Janna exclaimed.

“I know. I want a dog like that,” Coral agreed. “I’ve never been able to have a dog since I’ve lived underwater most of my life.”

“Let’s get back to the book review,” Harmonie laughed.

“I love the format of the book,” Catie said.

“You would. You are the artist,” Breanna joked.

“I agree. It’s so original,” Janna added, defending Catie.

“Yes, the way Mr. Pish goes on a trip and sends postcards home that describe his adventure is a fun way to read,” Harmonie agreed.

“It is very entertaining and educational,” Catie said.

 

Mr. Pish goes to the Farm is a picture book for young children. But the Mystic Princesses think others will have fun reading it, as well.

Turtle Wish by Murielle CyrThe Mystic Princess book club just read Turtle Wish by Murielle Cyr.

 

“I loved that the book was about sea creatures,” Coral said.

“The part where Hatchling splashed like a baby duckling was funny,” Janna said.

“Oh! Me too,” Breaana agreed. “But the mama duck wasn’t nice to Hatchling, though.”

“I liked the brightly colored pictures,” Catie said.

“I know how turtle feels,” Harmonie said. “I wish I knew my mother, too.”

 

Turtle Wish is a picture book for young children.

“I liked Princess Madeline,” Catie said. “I wouldn’t want to marry a prince I didn’t love, either.”

“Princess Madeline is so cool,” Janna added. “She does whatever she wants.”

“Well, look where that got her,” Coral replied. “Kidnapped!”

“I was nearly kidnapped, so I wouldn’t have run away from home,” Harmonie replied.

“But she was smarter than her kidnappers, so she escaped,” Breanna said.

The Escape of Princess Madeline the first book in the middle grade chapter book Princess Madeline series. It is a fairy tale for all ages.

The Mystic Princesses have formed their own book club and are talking about Come Back Dear Sun by Geena Bean.

“I like that Kaylee and Mattie play outside when the sun is out,” Janna said.

“I liked the pictures, because they are colorful,” Catie replied.

“The rhyming was fun,” Breanna chimed in.

“I liked the friendship of Kaylee, Mattie and their other friends,” Harmonie added.

“It was imaginative,” Coral agreed.

 

Come Back Dear Sun is a picture book great for young boys and girls.
